Location: Water Tower Place Mall, Chicago, IL
Job Type: Part-Time | Contractor Position
Schedule: 10:45am – 7:15pm | Flexible days between Sunday–Monday
Compensation: Paid by day (based on experience)

Chicago Estate Advisors (CEA) is a curated retail and estate services company specializing
in vintage, home décor, furniture, and one-of-a-kind finds. Our store environment is fastpaced, creative, and customer-focused. We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented
Store Associate to support daily operations, customer experience, inventory management,
and administrative tasks.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys retail, organization, teamwork, and working with
unique merchandise.
Position Overview
The Store Associate will support daily store operations by ensuring the store is properly
opened and closed, inventory is organized and tracked, customers receive excellent
service, and administrative and consignment processes are followed accurately.
This role also supports merchandising, light accounting tasks, social media content, and
business development efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Store Operations
• Open and close the store following established procedures (lights, alarm,
thermostat, doors, and safe)
• Count and manage the cash drawer at opening and closing
• Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable store environment
• Record messages and manage daily customer pickups
Customer Service
• Provide a welcoming and professional experience for all customers
• Assist with purchases, questions, and special requests
• Communicate with clients regarding pickups and consignment items
Inventory & Consignment Support
• Ensure all merchandise is properly priced and tagged
• Research and price items based on market value and history
• Track inventory in spreadsheets and systems
• Ensure consignment items are properly tagged and entered into the system
• Upload items to website and assist with product photography
Administrative & Financial Support
• Assist with light accounting tasks
• Learn and work with QuickBooks, Clover, Excel, and MAC systems
• File paperwork and follow up with clients
• Assist with processing client payments after sales are verified
Merchandising & Store Design
• Assist with monthly store resets and visual merchandising
• Maintain creative and appealing displays
• Coordinate with setup and delivery teams
Sales & Business Development
• Support sales goals and team performance
• Assist with online marketing and community outreach efforts
• Help drive monthly merchandise sales targets
Team Support
• Work collaboratively with managers and contractors
• Communicate scheduling conflicts as needed
• Support training and coaching efforts
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks, Excel, or inventory systems a plus
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Creative eye for merchandising and design is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Independent Contractor Status
This position is classified as an independent contractor role. The Store Associate is
responsible for their own taxes and is not eligible for employee benefits including health
insurance, paid time off, or retirement benefits. Compensation is provided on a daily rate
basis.
