1980s Dorothy Hafner Signed Studio Pottery Tea Set and Platter
Description: A rare, investment-grade ceramic set by New York artist Dorothy Hafner. This four-piece set includes a geometrically sculptural teapot, creamer, sugar bowl and a coordinating square plate. Features a hand-painted Post-Modern design consisting of black and white grids, vibrant turquoise "lightning" bolts, and pink/yellow accents. This is hand-built studio pottery, not mass-production porcelain, making it a high-demand item for Memphis-era design collectors.
Note the teapot has a different style of maker’s mark and is attributed to 1981 rather than 1984.
Condition: Excellent / Collector Grade. No chips, cracks, or crazing. The hand-painted glaze remains vibrant with a high-gloss finish. The signature on the base is clear and legible.
Size: 9.5” H x 9” L x 3.5” W (teapot); 11.75” x 11.75” (platter); 3.5” H x 5.5” L x 2” W (creamer and sugar)
Weight: Approx. 3.5 lbs
