Description: An authentic late 19th-century carved wood Buddha figure from the Mandalay region of Burma (now Myanmar). This serene figure is depicted in a traditional seated meditative pose with a gentle expression characteristic of the period.

• Artistry: Hand-carved hardwood featuring residual polychrome pigment and distinctive scorch marks that speak to its long history and survival.

• Mounting: Professionally mounted on a custom black museum-quality block base for stable display.

• Provenance: Mandalay area and style; identified as late 19th century.

 

Condition: Antique - Distressed. The piece shows significant, historically appropriate wear, including weathered wood grain, loss of original pigment, and surface charring (scorch marks).
