Antique Asian Black Lacquer Square Gift Box

Description: An elegant antique lacquerware box, originally used as a ceremonial gift or document carrier. The lid features a sophisticated hand-painted gilt (gold leaf) floral design against a deep black lacquer field, framed by a rich mahogany-toned wood border. The box contains dried sphagnum moss, commonly used in terrariums. 
 
Condition: Good - Antique. Shows authentic age-appropriate wear, including minor surface scuffs to the lacquer and softening of the gilt details. There is a visible historic repair/stability reinforcement on one corner of the lid
