Antique Japanese Crackle Glaze Bud Vase
Description: A fine example of early 20th-century Japanese ceramic art, this Kyoto Awata-yaki vase features the characteristic cream-colored "crackle" glaze. The hand-painted central figure depicts a Kabuki performer in the "Renjishi" (Lion Dance), identifiable by the flowing red wig and traditional Edo-period theatrical robes.
The base bears a hand-painted red calligraphy mark and a "Made in Japan" collector’s label, dating this piece to the late Meiji or early Taisho period.
Very Good Antique Condition. Beautifully aged fine-line crazing (glaze crackle) is intentional and uniform. No chips or cracks detected. There is minor thinning of the gold gilt at the rim and slight surface wear to the enamel on the figure's robes, consistent with a piece of this age.
