Description: This exceptional set of antique nesting baskets reflects the masterful artistry of West African leatherwork and weaving traditions (likely Tuareg or Hausa origin). Each conical vessel is meticulously hand-coiled with natural elephant grass and encased in rich, dark-stained leather.
 
The exterior features intricate leather appliqué and structural banding in contrasting earth tones, including russet and deep charcoal. Often used for nomadic storage or ceremonial purposes.
 
Excellent Antique Condition. Naturally aged patina to the leather; weaving remains tight and structural. Minor superficial scuffing consistent with age and authentic use. No significant loss to the grass or leather structural bands.
